How to use The Circus Website

For people new to The Circus website, this site is still in "beta" phase - not everything works perfectly, and rather than work out all the kinks, our webmaster Mark Jeffers has been working on going straight to version 2.0 - a major update that promises to take us to another level - this is a major undertaking by his company, and it's over a year in the making. We're all looking forward to it!

In the mean time, here's a quick tutorial for using the website in it's current state. Please consider this a work in progress and add your questions and tips to the comments section. (Read on...)

Gluespace Interview with Matt James RE: The Dayton Circus

Hey everyone! I was interviewed about The Circus for a GLUEspace (Great Lakes Urban Exchange) podcast.

Here's the link!

c{space and The Circus

I'm very lucky to be working with a great group of folks down at c{space as the Facilities Maestro there. There have been a lot of synergies between our group and DaytonCREATE's Creative Incubator group, and it's been a very productive relationship so far. There's so much positive energy going into the place, it's a very exciting time for Dayton!

There's been some rumors recently that c{space is "the Circus Space", and while we're certainly involved, that's not the case. Kate and myself are working there independently of The Circus, though of course also occasionally in our capacities as Circus Members, for events, planning etc. While it's The Dayton Circus on the lease (until c{space can come up with it's own legal entity and insurance), it's not "ours" philosophically - the Dayton Creative Incubator (a part of DaytonCREATE) has contributed the vast majority of the momentum necessary to bring this project to fruition. Of course, it is ours in the sense that as Daytonians, we each have some ownership in this burgeoning community space! (more after the jump...)
